The New York Giants have signed cornerback Brian Witherspoon, who spent 2008 and 2009 with the Jacksonville Jaguars (he also played one game for the Detroit Lions in 2008), and placed defensive back/return man Will Blackmon (knee) on injured reserve.

Interestingly, given the topic of Simon's latest post today, the New York Giants have brought in ex Green Bay Packer special teams player, Will Blackmon. According to Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger, the Giants worked out Blackmon today, but left without a signed contract.
