Kevin Boss Interview May 26th, 2011

This interview with New York Giants offensive lineman Kevin Boss was conducted on May 26th, 2011 at The Garden at Studio Square NYC during a charity event for Project Sunshine.

Giants 101: "Why is Project Sunshine so important to you?"

Kevin Boss: "It’s all about the kids, you know? To do something to help out some kids that maybe aren’t in the best of health. I jump at the opportunity; I am just happy to come out here and help these kids out."

Giants 101: "The NFL is generally very charitable. With the current lockout situation, are you, as a player, at all concerned about how that will impact what you can do for charity and what the NFL can do for charity?"

Kevin Boss: "Right now, we have a lot of time on our hands. Maybe it’s something I wouldn’t have had a chance to do if the lockout wasn’t going on. We’ve got time to be even a little more charitable right now."

Giants 101: "Are you keeping up with workouts on your own?"

Kevin Boss: "Yeah. I’m working with a personal trainer and I am also working with a physical therapist as I recover from my hip surgery. I’m just trying to stay in shape and be ready for when they call."

Giants 101: "During the impromptu ‘Camp Eli’ were you just working on rhythm, or were there specific plays or gameplans you were focusing on?"

Kevin Boss: "We were really just out there throwing the ball around. People were kind of making it bigger than it really was. It wasn’t like a practice, not to sound like Allen Iverson, but we were just throwing the ball around. It was nice to get together again and slowly start progressing. The longer this thing goes on, we’re going to have to get back out there and progress more as a team."

Giants 101: "Knowing that David Diehl took a couple of snaps at tight end while you guys were out there, are you at all concerned about the additional competition at your position?"

Kevin Boss: "Yeah, he looked good! No. Not at all."

Giants 101: "If the NFL Lockout is lifted, what do you think the first thing is that you’re going to do?"

Kevin Boss: "Go back to work. It’ll be great to see everyone again, including the staff that works around the stadium."
