Jonas Seawright

Jonas SeawrightDefensive Tackle, #75
May 2005 – September 2007

The Giants signed the massive defensive tackle out of North Carolina as an undrafted free agent, and instantly there was a buzz around Seawright, mostly because of his size. The 6'6 335lb defensive tackle was going to become a dominating force in the middle of the Giants' defensive line and was an instant contender for the starting nose tackle position, left vacant by the departure of Kendrick Clancy in Free Agency during the summer of 2006.

He inspired a legendary thread on the Giants.com forums called "The Legend of Seawright" which had over 3,800 posts during his Giants tenure.

Overall, Jonas Seawright was a total bust on the field for the Giants, playing limited snaps in nine games for the Giants during the 2006 season, making only one tackle. He was released following one season with the Giants, and was out of football for two seasons, before a brief stint with the Cowboys in 2009. He now plays for the Hardford Colonials of the UFL, where he made just three tackles in one season with the team.
