Carl’s Stone Cold Lock of the Century of the Week – New York Giants Vs. Kansas City Chiefs: Video

Carl Brutananadilewski, known by many to be a part of the popular TV Show Aqua Teen Hunger Force, has never been shy about his New York Giants fandom (as fictional as he may be). He was along for the ride to Super Bowl XLVI and, now that the team has struggled to an 0-3 start, is back to bring them good mojo. And in his "Stone Cold Lock of the Century of the Week," Carl does the only thing he knows how to do: pick Big Blue.

Alas, Carl showed the flaws of many Giants fans who are in panic mode but claim not to be. He suggested gems that we see each day, such as "Fire Tom Coughlin!" and the other classic, "Send David Wilson to the Minnesota Vikings for David Wilson!" The one curveball he did throw was suggesting Sean Payton come in and take over as head coach rather than the most common name brought up, Bill Cowher.

Whatever the case may be, Carl and his flip-flops are calling for the upset. And we agree with him, as you'll see when the Giants-Chiefs preview comes out a little later today.

So G101 is calling it for the Giants
Well, I guess since it is potentially the last meaningful game of the season, why not
The interesting part will be the logic behind the assertion
“The Giants offensive line will dominate the Chiefs Defensive front because…..”
“The Giants defense will play aggressively because ….”
“The Giants will winnthe turnover battle because ….”
    Can’t wait!

There is no logical reason whatsoever to think the giants can win this game. Then again, there’s a reason why the words “on any given Sunday” exist. How many times as Giants fans have we seen the Giants lose games that they should have dominated? Yes, im fully expecting a loss today….not because im some eternal pessimist, but because that’s what common sense dictates. If we win though I wouldn’t be stunned….Ive seen inferior teams beat better teams too many times to count over the years. The NFL is a crazy like that.

    Through 3 games:
    Giants offense:
    1. scoring 27th
    2. Interceptions thrown — 1st
    3. Sacks surrendered — tied for 28th
    4. Rushing yards per game — 32nd
    Giants Defense:
    1. Points allowed — 32nd (St Louis has given up 6 more but they’ve played 4)
    2. Sacks recorded — tied for 31st
    3. Passing yards surrendered — 16th
    4. Rushing yards surrendered — 6th
    5. Total yards surrendered — 9th
    Special Teams:
    1. 21st in net yards per punt
    2. 1 of only 2 team’s to allow a punt return for a TD

As often as not statistics lie. But right now, they tell the picture of an 0-3 team rivaled only by Jacksonville for ineptitude. If things continue in this vein, you would think Mara would have to (and want to) fire the entire coaching staff. The harder question is whether he should fire Reese who with each passing off-season is looking less and less like a great GM

Jim I see the following this week
    1- more scoring
    2 less interceptions
    3 less sacks
    4 better rushing game

1 fewer points allowed etcetera etcetera etcetera

The Giants may not win this game but I will look for a much more disciplined team and I will look to see that the Giants coaching staff did their job this week .
I normally would not give a team that might open up 0-4 any chance to win the division but its not the NFC least for nothing .
Again , Dallas won by 6 points and were the recipients of 6 turnovers at least one a total fluke . Philly has one win and Washington is 0-3 also . So with this division you cant possibly feel that the Giants not have ANY chance at all . Believe me , I understand that the Giants are a wreck right now but I think quite a bit of it can be corrected . Now you cant tell me that if the Giants make it as an ” average ” team they wouldnt be able to win the division ?
Im going with Carl Stone (whoever he is ) and say Im an Unabashed Giants fan . Look , except when Denver was the opponent , there werent many who didnt at least give the Giants a chance . Im going with 6 turnovers and Chase Blackburn and assume that the Giants will improve this week and at least make it a game worth watching .

      Let’s hope you are right
On the one hand you would think they can’t play any worse than they did last week
You could also believe that the very nature of the KC offense will keep the score close so long as our offense doesn’t commit turnovers or end up pinned so deep in our own territory that the Chiefs are constantly starting at or about the fifty

In fact, the only hope I see for the Giants is a field position game where the giants pin the chiefs offense early and keep them there and then get handed a few FGs — maybe take a 9-7 yawner

But the 2 big and obvious questions will be the retooled o line and a perry Fewell conceived defense that never knows how to attack

      We shall see

Im not sold on the cowboys being as horrible as everyone is saying. They are 2 points away from being 3-0.

And no, I don’t think that the Giants can be average and still win the division….dallas is at least average, has a bit of an easier schedule then us from this point forward, and already has a 2 game lead on us. Dallas needs to remain average, while the giants become GOOD, in order for them to overtake Dallas.
