Although Monday and Tuesday were filled with a lot of positive injury-related news for the New York Giants — including the activation of two PUP players and the return of Corey Webster and Hakeem Nicks — the team also suffered a series of new injuries during practice yesterday.

Among those injured were offensive lineman James Brewer, who was removed from the field and evaluated for a possible concussion.

"Brewer got dinged this morning a little earlier. I don’t know about that yet," head coach Tom Coughlin said after practice.

If Brewer did, in fact, suffer a concussion, he would be the second Giants offensive lineman to do so in a week. Rookie first-round pick, Justin Pugh, has also been sitting out due to a concussion, but Coughlin said he is progressing and could return soon.

In addition to Brewer, tight end Larry Donnell rolled his ankle, while running back Ryan Torain went down with an unknown injury after taking a huge hit from Jacquian Williams in 11-on-11's. Coughlin and defensive coordinator Perry Fewell were not fans of the increased physicality.

"[Donnell] rolled his ankle, he’ll probably be okay. I don’t know really what happened to Torain. He got knocked off balance, he fell to the ground, he was kind of slow back in the back, so I’m going to have to wait. I’m not sure. Hope he’s fine because we want him to play, and Ryan we want running the football," Coughlin said.

Finally, rookie safety Cooper Taylor also went down with a hamstring injury, although it's not immediately clear how serious it is.

The team will likely update each of these injuries and their severity after practice on Wednesday

No problem. Like the folks here say, these guys don’t need to practice. Tom Couglin disagrees. He thinks it’s very important. But what does that old fool know?
