The significance of this move is not so much that they parted ways with the former Cardinal, but that they now have only 89 men on their roster. And with the third and final round of Organized Team Activities (OTAs) scheduled to begin on June 3rd, an additional transaction is imminent — perhaps a veteran fullback?
The team worked out both Mike Cox (Atlanta Falcons) and Tony Fiammetta (New England Patriots) earlier this week, but neither left with a contract. However, with Henry Hynoski out with a knee injury, the team is said to be very intrigued by Cox despite their public support for Bear Pascoe.
Wright, meanwhile, still had a year of eligibility at Louisville, but declared for the NFL Draft early. He was obviously bypassed and ended up signing with the Giants as an undrafted rookie free agent in late April.
