The New York Giants have released their offseason workout program schedule for the next three months. The team will report to the practice facility on April 15th.
Organized Team Activities (OTAs) will be held on the following dates: May 22-23, May 29-31 and June 3-7. Mandatory full-team mini-camp will be held June 11-13.
The object of these sessions is to provide the players with an opportunity to train as a team, as well as a chance to condition together. The program consists of three phases.
The first phase, held during the first two weeks, is dedicated strictly to strength and conditioning, and also physical rehabilitation. Phase two takes place over the next three weeks. The players will go through non-contact drills, as live contact is not yet permitted. Teams are also allowed to conduct team offense vs team defense drills. And, finally, the third phase occurs over the following four weeks. The team is allowed ten days of organized team practice activity or OTAs. There is still no contact permitted, however 7-7, 9-7 and 11-11 drills are allowed.
Teams also have seven weeks to hold a mini-camp for veteran players and a rookie football development program.
For Big Blue, rookie mini-camp will be held from May 10-11.
