It's hard to avoid hearing about Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o, his fake girlfriend and the hoax that's captivated an entire Nation. Everywhere you look it's Manti this, Manti that. From ESPN to CNN to MSNBC to every morning show in America … there it is. And while some members of the New York Giants will freely discuss it, tight end Martellus Bennett has had enough of it.

Always candid, Bennett took to Twitter on Wednesday to express his feelings about the situation, and didn't hold back. At all.
"I'm tired of this Manti [Te'o] story. There's more important shit going on in the world than some dude falling in love with a shadow. Sheesh," he tweeted. "I mean I'm sure his feelings were hurt, but what else? No one died, no one got robbed, tortured, lost or anything. Interviewing [the] dude on every major network for getting played like a sucka. I wouldn't even wanna be on TV if I were him … Sounding like a little bitch. Grow some nuts and man up bro. And focus on ball. Can't allow this to overshadow your play on the field."
Realizing how long his Twitter rant was, Bennett followed it up by saying "Wasted four of my tweets on that shit just now. Not that there's a limit but geez."
Despite his clear frustration with the story that just won't go away, Bennett acknowledged that Te'o is a talented linebacker and can likely play at the NFL level. He made it a point to separate his on-field skill with his off-field immaturity, which is something most of the media has failed to do. Still, Bennett is right in one regard: who in their right mind would want to be dissected on National TV over and over again after being humiliated in such a way?
Perhaps more interesting than Bennett's take on Te'o was his reaction to fans who immediately started to criticize him for his non-Giants comments.
"It is offseason NYG fans. I'm sorry, but we will not be doing NYG stuff for a few months. Thanks management," he added. "I love NYG stuff, but I'm not even sure I'm going to be a Giant next year and talking football while everyone is playing f'in sucks."
Even more accurate than his Te'o statement, talking about and discussing New York Giants football while the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers and prepare for the Super Bowl does suck. A lot.

It’s only hard to avoid hearing about it because bloggers and beat writers continuously have to write about it….
Seriously. Damn them! Although, somewhat ironic: They only write about it because, like Tebow, people can’t stop themselves from reading it.
If a team drafts Te’o do they get a roster exemption for his imaginary girlfriend?
And do they save a seat for her in the wives and family section?
I feel sorry for their kids most of all.
