The once fierce New York Giants pass rush has had their struggles getting to the quarterback this year, and that's something that's been well documented. However, through the first 15 weeks of the season, teams across the league have remained wary of their potential for disruption. But that has now changed.
While speaking to the New York media on a Wednesday conference call, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was asked if he and his team fears Justin Tuck, Jason Pierre-Paul & Co. His answer, quite simply, was no.
"I wouldn't use that word. No," Harbaugh said. "[But] we respect them. We think they're very good."
That's a far cry from what would have been said only a year ago when 31 other NFL teams wanted to model their defensive front after the Giants', and opponents dreaded the idea of facing hem. But after a season of futility, they've not only lost their reputation, but they no longer offer any real intimidation.
As it stands, the Giants are ranked 16th in the league with 32 sacks. Ironically, they are tied with the Ravens who also have 32 sacks. Of those 32 sacks, 4.5 of them were recorded by someone other than a defensive lineman, and that's not including Mathias Kiwanuka (3 sacks), who's recorded some from linebacker position.
Two things remain certain for the Giants: In order to right this ship, they need Eli Manning to find consistency and they need to see the return of their vaunted pass rush. Without those things, they're headed into the offseason much earlier than anticipated.

i have a feeling we beat the Ravens in a similar way we beat the Saints and the Bucs.
Then we go into Philly with our season on the line, and lose. This team has trouble with McCoy and he’ll be back playing against us.
We finish at 9-7, miss out bc Dallas kicks an OT FG.
To be brutally honest, if we can’t beat these next two teams then we really have no business being in the playoffs.
Agree w/ Krow. The Eagles are terrible right now. The Eagles team which has owned the Giants and been in their head the past several years doesn’t exist anymore. And the Ravens team they’re about to face is falling apart at the seams. No excuses for losing these games. Honestly, they shouldn’t even be close.
The Ravens have had trouble scoring points. I have a bad feeling our defense will be the one to help the ravens break out of that trend
