Just prior to the bye week, New York Giants safety Kenny Phillips said he expected to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He didn't. Fast forward to week 12 and Phillips is once again confident he will take the field on Sunday, albeit not at 100%.

"I feel a whole lot better than I did two weeks ago, a week ago," Phillips said. "I still don't feel 100 percent, but I think I'm good enough to play at this point."

Phillips hasn't played since week four against the Philadelphia Eagles; a game in which he suffered a sprained MCL. He's been considered week-to-week since then, but hasn't really come close to playing. However, after a bye week, chances are strong that KP will suit up against the Green Bay Packers.

Since Phillips went down, Stevie Brown has emerged as a ball hawk and significant defensive threat. And although his defensive snaps will likely be reduced, the return of KP will allow the Giants to implement a three safety look that proved very successful for them a year ago.
