NFL athletes are often looked at as some variation of a superhero/untouchable because of their millions of dollars, lavish lifestyles and overly public personas. However, they are no different than you or I in so many ways, and Mother Nature was quick to point that out earlier this week as Hurricane Sandy roared through the Northeast causing unthinkable damage. Damage that New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning was unable to escape.
Like so many in New Jersey and New York City, Manning's apartment complex was flooded due to a record-breaking storm surge brought on by Hurricane Sandy. As seen in the picture above, shared by @Jim_ICE on Twitter, Manning was assessing damage and preparing for a power outage (the flashlight is a dead give away).
The good news is that Manning and his family, including wife Abby and daughter Ava, are A-OK. He is expected back at the TIMEX Performance Center on Wednesday as Big Blue returns to practice.
