Player/Coach Quotes:
Osi Umenyiora:
“Anybody can neutralize us if they execute that game plan,” said Umenyiora. “I mean, it’s easy, if you’re going to throw the ball in one second, nobody’s going get there. That’s just the way it is."
Antrel Rolle:
“I don’t need the film to remember … it just wasn’t a good game," Rolle said. “I think the first half we came out pretty good and the second half, we just stunk up the whole entire second half. So we definitely need to change as a defensive unit, and we will."
Mathias Kiwanuka:
"We definitely weren't in synch [in the opener]," said Kiwanuka. "They came out and they executed better. They played better. There's no excuses for our performance. But looking back, we know what it takes to beat them. We just have to make sure we get it done."
Rob Ryan:
“They give a lot of credit where credit is due, and it’s just because of their lack of execution. We got the message, we understand that. That’ll be great. We’re looking forward to that challenge. They’re the Super Bowl champs. We’ve given them nothing but respect. They’ve hung a million yards up on us before. Then when we played them the first game of the year, they just had a bad day.”
Inactives:
New York Giants – Kenny Phillips, Rocky Bernard, Jacquian Williams, Jerrel Jernigan, Adewale Ojomo, James Brewer and Adrien Robinson.
Dallas Cowboys – Sean Lissemore, DeMarco Murray, Phil Costa, Matt Johnson, Kyle Wilber, Charlie Peprah and Andre Holmes.

Eagles getting smoked at the half.
Gotta wonder if this is Vick’s last week as PHI’s starting QB. Maybe even Reid’s last week as HC.
You’re being ridiculous.
You’re kidding, right? Have you WATCHED the Eagles these past two seasons?
Yeah. It’s totally ridiculous to think that a coach (who has never won ANYTHING, mind you) who went 8-8 in the first year of the “Dream Team” and is looking like he is about to go 3-4 in the second year is going to get fired. Totally unfounded.
It’s also ridiculous to think that Vick, a turnover machine and one of the worst QBs in football, is going to get benched.
Ridiculous!
They perform more like this Dream Team. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFeyf3NwHPc
LOL!
+1
Yes. Moving on.
Okay well, that’s silly. And just flat out wrong.
Don’t care. Let them sort it out. ;-) Go Giants!
haha. I like when the cameras show the Eagles fans. They look sooooo miserable out there.
It’s so cute how they actually thought they were going to win the division this year.
Next stop for the Giants defense on its 2012 Tragical Misery Tour: Dallas, TX.
34-30, Cowboys.
27-24 Giants. At least 6-2 for the 8th time in 8 seasons.
Man, the Eagles are HORRIBLE. It actually makes me physically ill to think we lost to this team….
A penalty or three feet… Such is football in the NFC East.
Meh. The Giants were without their No. 1 receiver, Chris Canty, their entire secondary was banged up, and it STILL took a freak offensive pass interference penalty on Ramses freaking Barden for the Eagles to win that game on their home field. With this current group, there is no doubt the Giants win that game.
I think the Giants win, but am dead certain this is not a “must win” game for us. I have to say that, to the extent possible, we’re going into this game playing with house money. If we win we will probably have a HUGE conference lead, one that is going to be very difficult for any team to overcome thanks to all of our division rivals having plenty of games against each other still to come. If we lose we probably still have a 1 1/2 game lead over everyone which, while not comfortable, isn’t bad at all.
On the other hand, this is certainly a game the Cowboys “have” to win. Not only for playoff positioning but to end this string of losses at home to the Giants and to right the ship on their season. They come into it missing two big players (the absence of Lee is really significant) and relying, really, on Romo, Ware, Austin, Bryant and Witten to have great games. The pressure on those guys is going to be intense, and at least previously a few of them have not shown the ability and discipline to rise to the occasion under pressure.
I think if we have a game plan that tightens up the passing lanes to Witten we leave the Cowboys very few ways to win the game. So unless Fewell is going to leave Blackburn to deal with that middle zone himself (and I cannot believe he will do so) I just don’t see a path to victory for Dallas.
Maybe the game is close thanks to the Giants coming out flat, but I still see a W at the end of the day. And boy, should we be in business if that’s what we get.
For like the 150th time, this game scares me. The circumstances just seem to be optimal for a Cowboys win. Desperate team, playing their biggest rival, on their home turf, the chance for a revenge sweep after last year…
That being said, I do expect the Giants to win this football game. I think it will be close right up until the fourth quarter where the Giants go up by two scores and then put the game to bed from there.
This is going to be a shootout, folks, and it would not shock me to see a team hit the 40-point mark.
I expect a huge game from Eli, a humongous game from Bennett, and some timely defensive plays that should be just enough to keep Romo and the Dallas offense at bay.
Giants win this one 37-27, but the game will feel like 37-36.
And those much-heralded Bears are currently getting handled by the Panthers.
19-7 in the fourth quarter. At Soldier Field, mind you.
Pittsburgh looking strong against the Skins, 10+ drops by skins recievers isn’t helping.
