New York Giants’ Victor Cruz Responds to Atlanta Falcons’ Roddy White: “I Got a Ring at Home”

On Thursday night during an NFL Network interview, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White took aim at New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz for the second time this year. When asked who was the best duo in the NFL, he named himself and teammate Julio Jones. But in taking it a step further, he questioned what Cruz brings to the table by saying "Victor Cruz is much more of a slot receiver. The big boys play on the outside."

When asked about the comments on Friday, Cruz shrugged them off and gave an answer that should end any debate about whether or not he's a "big boy."

"I couldn't care less about what anybody else has to say," Cruz told the Star-Ledger. "I got a ring back at home. I don't care about what Roddy White has to say."

In the game of chess, that's called checkmate. So goodnight, Mr. White.

In addition to his record setting regular season, Cruz added 21 receptions for 269 yards and a touchdown in the playoffs. And on the world's biggest stage, in the most important game a football player could ever play in, Cruz hauled in four receptions for 25 yards and the teams only touchdown through the air. He did his salsa dance and when all was said and done, he held the Lombardi Trophy high as Roddy White and the rest of the Falcons watched from home.

Meanwhile, for Roddy White, he has 22 receptions for 193 yards and two touchdowns during the playoffs over his nine-year NFL career. In those games, the Falcons are 0-3.

Big boys come up big in big moments. Cruz has, White hasn't. And that's how this story ends.

Like I said … I blame Gruden. His relentless knob slobbing has engorged their … ummmm egos.

I don’t know if you can lay all that at Gruden’s doorstep, even if he is super annoying to listen to on any and all topics

Looking forward to the first ever great football player who believes everyone else is better than him.

Although I could care less about the comments, I will say that I also look forward to the first time I see Roddy White absolutely take over a football game. I would just like to see what all the hype is about. It’ll be fun to see how well he does next year (or so) when the second greatest receiver of all time retires and safeties can start to focus on him like most other “big boys” have to deal with.

So no Hosely, no Rivers, no Nicks.
Expect the Eagles to run blitz to ensure that the Giants run game doesn’t get untracked. They’ll do their best to take Cruz out of the game and force Eli to beat them with Barden Bennett and Hixon. If Eli can do it again, this time against a vastly superior defense, it will be tough for Dan to populate his poor Eli column.
On the other side of the ball, they will attack our middle with their receivers, especially if Blackburn is on the field.
Aside from Vick’s general propensity to make mistakes, the only real weakness on the Eagles offense is their O-Line. I say only, but of course that’s a huge weakness assuming we can exploit it. We couldn’t against Dallas and we suffered accordingly. We finally showed some solid D-Line play against a poor Carolina team. We really need to step it up another notch to put enough pressure on Philly’s offense to slow them down and force mistakes.
