Now on a two-game win streak and with normal schedule again, New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin took the podium on Wednesday in a better mood than he has in recent weeks. However, focus immediately turned to injuries -as it always does- which we all know by now, is one of his least favorite subjects. But we digress… TC offered both some good news and bad news as it relates to the walking wounded.

The pre-practice injury report included the following players: Hakeem Nicks (foot), Adewale Ojomo (hamstring), Keith Rivers (hamstring), Antrel Rolle (knee), Ahmad Bradshaw (Neck), Michael Coe (hamstring), David Diehl (knee), Domenik Hixon (concussion), Jayron Hosley (hamstring) and Corey Webster (hand).

Despite what the pre-practice injury report lists, Coughlin says Rolle, Coe (limited), Webster, Ojomo, Bradshaw and Hixon will practice. He also noted that Diehl will do minor work on the side, while Hosley and Rivers will sit out. Nicks will practice, on schedule, Thursday.

"[Rolle] will do everything he can. It's difficult to control him," Coughlin said with a smile.

As far as Bradshaw and a potential running back controversy with Andre Brown, there won't be one. Coughlin announced that Bradshaw will start on Sunday night, but that Brown has earned a larger role and the team "reserves the right to change that based on hot hand." For now, however, splits will be determined based on the gameplan.

Meanwhile, the coach praised his team for improving each and every week, saying "focus and concentration" on technique and assignments have gotten better. And all of that is good news with a game against the Philadelphia Eagles coming up.

"They are very explosive. We have our work cut out for us," Coughlin said of the Eagles, adding that they are a very talented all-around team.

Finally, TC passed on commenting on both the replacement referees and the ongoing Osi Umenyiora/LeSean McCoy feud, simply saying "No" repeatedly when asked about each situation.

And with that … it's practice time.

This is not surprising. I think starting Bradshaw is no big deal. The distribution of carries and playing time will be. I don’t like Bradshaw as a 3rd down RB because he doesn’t catch the ball naturally and doesn’t get north and south as quickly as I would like. At least I hope they give Brown that 3rd down role while mixing him in for series and earlier downs.

Yeah, I don’t care who “starts”. The only people that care about starts are players, their agents, their mothers, and pro-bowl ballets.

One thing I notice that’s the best news we have had a CB in a while is that Prince isn’t on the report at all. That’s great news. We do need Hosley as well. But having Prince with no issues is a great start to consistenly fielding a CB we expected to start this season.

The way I see it, the difference between this game and the 17-10 loss last year is that we have a team coming off a big win with a reinvigorated run game.

But the Eagles have a f’in nasty defense and they’ll bring it out in full force against us. That defensive line will try and abuse our tackles to get to Eli. This is why our run game needs to show up big time to keep them honest.
