New York Giants defensive end and defensive captain Justin Tuck was not happy with the way the team practiced leading up to their week one game against the Dallas Cowboys. His frustration was echoed by head coach Tom Coughlin, who said two of the three practices were less than spectacular. But following an embarrassing 0-1 start, Big Blue rounded into shape this week and Tuck was much more pleased with what he saw.

"I think practice is double of what it was last week," Tuck said. "And I think a lot of that comes from our leadership, comes from our coaching staff. Guys seem to be a little bit more excited about playing football. I think last week we were a little bit sluggish."
It's hard to imagine the defending Super Bowl champions wouldn't have been excited to open at home against the Cowboys, but perhaps they were still riding a Lombardi high. Either way, with 0-2 starring them right in the face, the urgency of the situation has become clear to them. Coughlin has even gone as far as to tell them that Sunday's game is the "most important game" they'll ever play … and the players are responding.
"I think there's a sense of urgency this week," Tuck said. "There should've been more last week, but it was definitely a lot this week. And if we go 5-1, in the seventh game there should be a lot, too. I'm not really worried about our sense of urgency this year. I think the way we've practiced has proven to me where that is on this football team. And I think it's pretty good."
Good practice won't mean a thing if they don't come out with the same fire and determination this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It's something Greg Schiano and his team expect, and something they are fully prepared for.
It's not going to be a walk in the park…

Well, one thing I learned after watching that game last night…. We’re not the only NFC team with offensive lien woes.
