For all you Madden nerds out there, EA has released the team ratings for the newest Madden video game expected to go on sale August 28. Every year there seems to be some questionable ratings making this year no different. So without further ado, here are the ratings…

Overall, the ratings are much lower than previous years with no teams in the 90's and four teams in the 60's. The New York Giants are ranked only fourth highest with an 84 overall rating. The Packers (86), Patriots (86), and Steelers (85) are all rated higher. What's even more surprising is that the "Dream Team" Philadelphia Eagles are given the same rating. To make that more clear, a team that finished with a .500 record and missed the playoffs is rated the same as a team that beat the league's best teams in the playoffs eventually leading to a Super Bowl victory. Having the fourth highest rating in the game is respectable, but it still appears the Giants got slighted especially seeing as their division rival, the Eagles, received the same rating.

The next Madden news to be released will be the players ratings. It will be interesting to see where Eli Manning will be rated amongst the other top quarterbacks. Will ELIte be rated accordingly? Stay tune into Giants 101 for the latest Madden news.

I got upset and posted this on the last comments
    Repost to Nosh
Nosh , you are starting to get annoying – MY comments were simply that Herzlich was still on the team because GIANTS MANAGEMENT wanted him there
and it had nothing to do with his race color school feel good story or anything else . Show me anywhere that definitively states that talent is not the only reason he is still there from any authoritative source ( and as much as I respect the knowledge and info that comes from this site , I do not consider a poster on here an authoritative source – sorry Kujo )

Also from the last thread, Fewell had damn well better not forget how the three safety alignment works.

Because if a MIKE backer does not raise from the “collection” linebackers currently on the roster, the three safety set will not be just a “look”. It will be a cruel fact of life.

Also, due to his injury and because of his physical nature, Terrell Thomas would be the logical choice to play “one of” the safety spots. Also in play is a hybrid type player.
Someone who is not quite big enough to be a point of attack linebacker, but agile enough to cover a tight ends. Perhaps a player 6′ 3″ 225 pounds. (Zack Brown would have been ideal IMHO)

That actually sounds like Williams. However, the brain trust may feel Williams will “fill out” and perhaps be at 245 pounds soon. If he gains that mass with strength and retains most or all of his speed, we’ll have at least one pro bowl caliber backer.

All that Boley has over Williams is experience at this point. But I would not let Boley go for all the tea in China. The guy (Boley) makes plays that add up on the positive side of the ledger all season long.
