With their fifth pick (131st overall) in the 2012 NFL Draft, the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants have selected tackle Brandon Mosley out of Auburn.
Mosley (6'6'', 315 lbs.), who originally signed as a defensive end/tight end and then converted to tackle, played on the right side of the line two years ago when Cam Newton led the Auburn Tigers to the National Championship. He's relatively inexperienced due to the positional switch, but did start the teams final 11 games at right tackle.
His senior season got off to a rough start due to a wide range of mental errors, including a moment in which he forgot he was a part of the extra point team.
"It’s a dream. It’s something I’ve been dreaming about since I was growing up. It’s a life-long dream. I feel really blessed to be in this situation," Mosley sad in March, when asked about potentially being drafted.
At Auburn's Pro Day, Mosley ran a 5.21 40-yard dash and added a 27 inch vertical jump, 08' 07'' broad jump, 7.34 second 3-cone drill and 30 reps at 225 lbs.

Mosely is a RT only?
Project … X the Unknown.
Im assuming and hoping hes the big kid on the left ?
Interestting that he started out as a TE .Love those guys that have a little extra ro put into the pot . Just one play to score when hes tackle eligible will make everyone happy
Vikings gets Greg Childs, that guy could be a BALLER if his knee checks out..
I’m a big fan of Childs. At least he didn’t go to a rival.
Classic Giants pick. Look at Brewer (huge, quick feet) and then look at Mosely. Converted tight end. That means good feet.
Flaherty gets to work with two huge kids who have feet good enough to play either tackle position, and also big enough to shift inside if required. If just one of them works out the team wins. If both do they won the lottery. In two years either Brewer or Mosely is at right tackle, Beatty is on the left unless one of these two beats him out, Petrus is at LG, Snee is at RG, and Baas or his successor is at center. That is a BIG, tough, and quick offensive line.
Errr…OK
Would have liked to see a guard rather than another tackle added to a roster that already has scores of ‘em.
But what the heck do I know?
I don’t know but I wonder if he could play guard too?
Mosley is super raw. Former TE who has only been on the line for a couple of years. Really tenacious and nasty type of player. Purely a RT though (not necessarily a bad thing for us). Gonna need some coaching.
I suppose this goes back to what Krow was saying earlier… how the Giants look for players with certain, specific characteristics to fill the different positions.
This would seem to fit the description of what they look for in a OT.
ESPN-Played linebacker and tight end in addition to punting in high school. Played defensive end and tight end at the junior college level. Transferred to Auburn and moved to offensive line in spring of 2010. Gained 15 pounds and won starting job for a national champion despite inexperience. Keeping academics in order has been a struggle however and there are concerns regarding mental capacity. Did not qualify academically coming out of high school so enrolled at Georgia Military School and transferred to Coffeyville a year later. Turns 24 in December.
