Rock Band Eve to Adam Headed to Super Bowl XLVI with David Baas, New York Giants

Love of sports is universal. For that reason, it should come as no real surprise that the New York Giants have fans from all walks of life, including the world of rock and roll. And when Big Blue takes the field for Super Bowl XLVI on February 5th, they'll do so with Eve to Adam, a popular rock band based out of New York City, in their corner.

Close friend of center David Baas, Eve to Adam reached out to Giants 101 following a dramatic victory in the NFC Championship game with this message for the Giants and their fans:

“What a thriller of a game! The Giants are going to Indianapolis after defeating the 49ers in an overtime, teeth clencher victory that ended with a 31 yard Laurence Tynes field goal sending the G-Men back to the Super Bowl for the second time in four years…and this time my good friend David Baas, number 64, is right there leading the charge, just like he has all season long, as the center for Big Blue's ever resilient offensive line. Not only is Dave Bass going to Super Bowl 46, he did it by defeating his former team, the San Francisco 49ers. I am so very proud of David for all that he and the rest of the team have accomplished this year. I remember back in July when he called my brother Alex and I to tell us that he was coming to New York to play and was looking forward to playing the new ETA album in the locker room. No one gave this team anything all season long, and they once again proved that the underdog is ever so dangerous when there is blood in the water. We never stopped believing in you guys, and you delivered! Now bring on the Patriots and fulfill your destiny as the gutsy champions we know you are. 'You gotta believe.' GIANTS ALL THE WAY!”

As a part of the celebration, Eve to Adam has also given us a David Baas signed football to give away to one lucky Giants fan! To enter for your chance to win said football, all you need to do is "like" Giants 101 on Facebook and "like" Eve to Adam on Facebook. That's it. A winner will be chosen at random on Monday, January 30th.

For more information on Eve to Adam, check out their official website or, again, their Facebook page. Their music can be previewed and purchased on their Facebook page, as well as purchased in the iTunes store. They can also be followed on Twitter.

Giants fans support other Giants fans, so we welcome Eve to Adam with open arms. And as they said, Go Giants!

Good for TB if they get him. He’s a great coach. He was getting good recruits to play for him at Rutgers and brining College football back to the tri-state area. Big fan of his though. He’s a players type of coach. Tb would be lucky if he gets the job.

      • axr29 says:

Ive watched a lot of Rutgers but I dont see the correlation to the NFL. Sure he doesn’t have blue chip recruits all over the field but I just don’t see it. They need someone who can fix Freeman.

That being said I thought Chip Kelley would have been a terrible hire.

        • BigBlueGiants says:

He’ll be just fine in the NFL. He’s a terrific coach.

          • Heather Lefkovenjm0m says:

Wow that would be a huge lose to Rutgers. He was the reason they were able to recruit and keep kids from Jersey to play at Rutgers. That is huge for the college. Good for TB. This will be very interesting.

giantsfan- in regards to your Peyton post from what I’ve been hearing speculation is pointing to Washington or Miami. I sure hope he picks Miami. I;m shocked that there is any real talk about his leaving Indy, but I think management wants him out and is ready to start fresh.

    • BigBlueGiants says:

Jim Irsay should go to jail or have a limb amputated for they way he’s treated Manning.

It makes me root against Andrew Luck all the more. Man, can you imagine if Luck is just an Average QB? ( insert FF55′s comment here about him being a sure thing).

Peyton knows his time in Indy is up. If he goes to DC, i still see Snyder drafting a QB potentially or even trying to trade to get Blackmon. If He drafts a QB, they’ll be groomed under Peyton. Which is what Irsay SHOULD be doing with Luck.

      • Heather Lefkovenjm0m says:

I agree completely. I feel terrible for the way this is going down for Peyton he clearly wanted to come back, but they are making it very clear they don’t want him. If I was Luck I should want nothing more then a year or two under Peyton Manning to learn from one of the best. Such as the opportunity that Young and Rodgers had.

I wish the best for the kid, but he is going to have a lot to live up to.

      • giantsfan says:

I just don’t see why he would want to go to Miami though. I think the reports just say Miami is interested in HIM. Not the other way around. I think he wants to go to a team ready to win now.

If Texans really want to win, I can see him landing there. That and maybe Titans are the only teams in the AFC that I think Manning will consider.

For NFC, I can see the Vikings being a contender, and maybe the Cards…

I can’t believe Peyton would want to play in Washington; in the same division as his little brother.
Eli would be fine with it; not so sure Peyton would be.

As far as teams go, I would think Kansas City, San Fran, Seattle, Minnesota, Arizona and Denver would also be candidates. maybe even Tennessee.

of course how much $$ Peyton will demand is an issue; whether there is a trade, as oppose to FA, partner is an issue.
The Colts owe him $28 Mil if they don’t cut him by March so a decision is coming soon

      • BigBlueGiants says:

Oh , i think the attraction in DC is playing Eli twice a year. And if the NFL had it’s way, which they just might knowing this corrupt league, they might steer him there. ESPECIALLY if Eli wins #2.

KC is out. SF MAYBE, doubt it though. NO WAY he goes to Seattle. Not a big enough market up there. MN, maybe. but Dont think he wants to play up there, AZ could happen, but doubtful. Denver is a possibility but they’re cheap and won’t pay his contract.

Peyton won’t go anywhere they won’t win. He’d turn the Skins around in a flash, especially if they draft Blackmon who will make an immediate impact with them.

        • Heather Lefkovenjm0m says:

Peyton is used to being in control and running things his way. Can we really see that happening in Washington with Shanahan? I haven’t a clue as to where he will go all I ask is that he stays away from the NFC East.

I don’t think Miami is as far off from having a winning team as some may think. I would love to see him give Brady a run for his money twice a year and boy would that shut Rex up. I would love to see him go to Miami.

      • giantsfan says:

I think he knows he has a max of 2-3 years left in him and wants to go team that’s ready to win.

I like my list: Texans, Titans, Vikings, Cards.

I t think KC, Seattle, Denver are closer to rebuilding

        • BigBlueGiants says:

you think that the Texans would move Shaub over so he can start?

I like the Titans too, but will they honor his contract?

It’s really amazing that this is being talked about, isn’t it?

  4. BigBlueGiants says:

Is Adam Sandler the lead singer of that band? And is that Big Pvssy from Soprano’s in that video?

  5. GOAT56 says:

I don’t think Eli is an automatic HOFer with a SB victory. I think If he has another high-level 5-7 years he will be but another SB alone doesn’t do it. Basically, he just needs to stay healthy.

Funny, I remember making a post before the season saying Eli could some day be a HOFer and not many agreed. Funny, how perception changes so quickly in the NFL.

    • Heather Lefkovenjm0m says:

He has been improving year after year. I think its fair to say that if he stays on the same level he is at right now not only do they have an awesome chance of winning this SB, but getting back at least once or twice more before his career is over. He will be in the Hall of Fame.

If only the rest of his team could stay as healthy as he has been.

  6. norm says:

First off, it’s no sure thing that Peyton Manning even plays football again. The man is coming off THREE neck surgeries. I’m no neurosurgeon but my hunch is that (and his age) puts him at much greater risk for serious lifelong damage than your average 20-something NFLer with no history of spinal issues.

Peyton is a smart dude. I know he still burns to play the game but I doubt he steps back onto a football field without first getting several medical opinions to give him a clear idea exactly what kind of risk level he’d be faced with. If those risks >> rewards of playing, he retires.

But should he come back and play for someone other than Indy, one thing to bear in mind when handicapping his landing spot is this: Peyton has enjoyed a tremendous amount of autonomy in his career; arguably more than any other QB has over the last couple of decades (if not longer) He’s not going to give that up to go be a “system” QB somewhere. And, on the flip side, some autocratic coach is not going to want to bring a QB who is used to acting as a de facto head coach – even if he is Peyton Manning.

As njm0m correctly noted, that would seem to rule out Washington and Shanahan; not a good fit. Would likely rule out the Niners, too, as I doubt HarWaaaah’s massive ego would relish sharing the spotlight with a HOF QB. I think Miami, with a rookie head coach, seems far more likely. As would KC as I could see the defensive minded Crennel happily turning over the reins of the offense to PM. Arizona is also a possibility.

But, as I said, I hope he does the smart thing by ensuring beforehand that he would not be putting himself at undue risk by returning. I’m a huge Peyton fan and I’d much rather see him leave his career by his own two feet rather than carted off the field on a stretcher.

    • Krow says:

I agree totally. If he has even the slightest doubt then he should call it a career. Peyton has a ton of personality, and would slide right into the booth. 1st ballot HOFer.

  7. jfunk says:

If you keep Peyton Manning on your roster in Indy and draft Andrew Luck #1, you have like $50M tied up in two players…on a roster that is in complete shambles. How are you supposed to rebuild the team like that?

I personally think Indy is doing Peyton a huge favor by “nudging him towards the door” publicly. He gets to stay the “hometown hero” instead of coming out and saying that he’d really rather not waste the last couple of years of his career on a non-competitive team.

Indy needs to gut that roster and rebuild. Might as well use that Peyton money to get started and bring along the QB that will actually be around to reap the rewards of that rebuild. Keeping Peyton around would only delay their ability to rebuild the roster another 2-3 years.

Peyton wants to win, and I’d be shocked if he has not come to the same realization that Irsay did…that’s it’s not happening in Indianapolis over the next 2-3 years. Not because of Peyton, but because there’s nothing else left on that team.
