John Clayton of ESPN reports that the New York Giants and free agent running back Ahmad Bradshaw are not close on a new deal and that he’s currently scheduling a visit with the Cincinnati Bengals.
“The Giants apparently aren’t close to re-signing RB Ahmad Bradshaw. He’s scheduling a trip to Cincy for a visit,” Clayton tweeted.
The Bengals have just re-signed running back Cedric Benson to a one-year deal, so there’s no telling how that might impact their pursuit of Bradshaw.
In addition to his pending visit with the Bengals, Bradshaw appears to be very pleased with the Washington Redskins’ interest.
He’s scheduled to be in New Jersey tomorrow (not necessarily with the Giants, however), so hopefully some sort of deal can get done before he begins meeting with other teams around the country.
UPDATE: Bradshaw is no longer going to visit Cincinnati. That does not mean that he is closer to a deal with the Giants, though, just that he will not visit with the Bengals at this time.
