Free agent linebacker Keith Bulluck, who spent the entire 2010 NFL season with the New York Giants, joined NFL Network on Friday night to discuss the retirement of Kerry Collins and a few other hot topics.
Although it was very brief, Bulluck was asked about Philadelphia Eagles’ LeSean McCoy (aka Lady Gaga) and his recent comment regarding Big Blue defensive end Osi Umenyiora. In the off chance that you’ve forgotten what McCoy said or have lived under a rock during this NFL Lockout, McCoy tweeted that Osi is “overrated” and the “third best defensive lineman on his own team.”
“I don’t think that anyone on their team is irritated. I think it’s something that he chose to do on his own. Twitter’s an open format and you can get out there and say what you want. I bet (McCoy) wouldn’t really have those same words for Osi if Osi was standing in front of him. I know he wouldn’t have those same words, Bulluck said. “Internet gangster.”
In addition to his poke at “Lady Gaga,” Bulluck also came to the defense of quarterback Eli Manning, whom he felt was unfairly left off of NFL Network’s “Top 100 Players.”
“That definitely surprises me. I mean, I think Eli takes a lot of flak for whatever reason. For someone who won a Super Bowl so early in his career, he takes a lot of hits. For him not to be on that list, that’s crazy,” Bulluck said.
Bulluck added that he’s back to his pre-injury form and has his swagger back. He’s previously hinted that he’d be opening to returning to the New York Giants, but ideally he’d like to be a starter.
