Just like a roller coaster, the New York Giants slowly chugged up to the top of the Power Rankings last week, only to take a hard nose dive as soon as they got there. After Week 10 in the NFL, let's see how far they slipped after that dreadful performance the Dallas Cowboys. We're also going to be keeping an eye on next week's opponent, the surging Philadelphia Eagles.

We fully expected the Eagles to leap frog Big Blue, but can understand that USA Today and Fox Sports weren't totally swayed by one game. Bleacher Report jumped on the Eagles bandwagon hardcore, but who would have expected anything different?
The Cowboys crept up a few spots, and the Washington Redskins slipped down after getting abused and embarrassed by the Eagles. The Cowboys and Redskins can keep each other company in the cellar from here on out.
The Giants and Eagles might be meaninglessly neck-and-neck in the Power Rankings, but their also neck-and-neck in the division. Next week's NFC East showdown between the rivals will decide first place in the standings, and surely separate the teams in next week's Power Ranking Roundup.

Bleacher Report is more of an embarrassment than ESPN.
I know man, I saw that and laughed..I reuse to read anything off that joke of a site
It’s Wikipedia for sports… Though I have seen a few good articles.
http://m.nypost.com/p/sports/giants/eagles_can_be_beat_so_why_try_19JwUJXkyez9EIQLYPMfvN forget the post. The act like their a new York paper but after publishing this stuff it’s clear their not after publishing a garbage article like this. If your a giants fan DON’T READ THE NY POST.
Take it easy my man, it’s called hyperbole.
Nothing in that article is meant to be taken seriously.
Ramses Prince Barden
appreciate the support everybody. im doing fine. no surgery necessary, just a few weeks off off my feet. about to go buy this new Jay-z book
He’ll have plenty of time to read it if they IR him.
They already IR’d him.
Maybe him and Cruz can start a ‘Book of the Month” club.
The Eagle/Vick fellatiofest is reaching tsunami strength. If they beat us then I fear the entire East Coast will be under water… or something a bit more sticky.
Along those same lines is this little news item that I posted on the previous thread:

Following a unanimous vote on Tuesday, the Pro Football Writers Association will be making a significant change to its prestigious MVP award, effective immediately.
Since 1975, the PFWA has given the award to the single player whom the majority of its members regard as the league’s Most Valuable Player – or MVP. Tuesday’s vote will alter that 35 year old tradition. While the PFWA will continue referring to its year end award as the MVP, those initials will now stand for something very different.
ESPN writer and former PFWA president, John Clayton, explains:
“The concept of a ‘most valuable’ player is no longer relevant. Not when today you have one player whose talent so exceeds that of his peers; whose brilliance has so dramatically changed the very fabric of the game that it renders the whole concept of relative value null and void. My fellow writers and I felt that the name of the award should be changed to reflect this paradigm shift.”
Under the changes approved Tuesday, the PFWA award popularly known as the MVP will now stand for “Michael Vick Personified.” Clayton says that it will be given at the end of each year to honor the player “who best embodies the awesomeness, the fabulousness, the sheer brilliance that is Michael Vick.”
And if that player happens to be none other than Michael Vick himself?
“Well,” Clayton concedes, “that’s the whole point, isn’t it? Since Vick will be the league’s most valuable player for as long as he wants to play, we figured we may as well just go ahead and name the dang thing after him. Really streamlines the whole process rather nicely, don’t you think?”
Adam Scheftler… my current “Moron of the Moment”. He was on a sports talk show saying how the Eagles will sign Vick to a long term contract, and also keep Kolb. The reason they’re keeping Kolb is because he’s worth more than a mid-1st round (16-18) and a #3… which is what teams will offer. And the Eagles will structure Vick’s new deal so that have money for Kolb year after next when he’s a FA.
Right. Cassel goes for a #2 after a full season of excellence, but Kolb is basically worth twice that after 4 games… 2 of them garbage games. And then if that’s not bad enough the Eagles will pay him starting QB money to sit? Yeah. One of the cheapest, most $$$ hard-nosed teams in the league is going to do that. Uh huh.
What a fanboy tool. Oh, and Vick is NFL MVP… almost forgot that one.
People are saying that Tim Tebow is the next Michael Vick… but without all that ‘torturing his pets to death’ stuff.
And without the ability to throw the ball any better than an average Texas high school QB.
You know, weeks ago I was here saying that the Eagles with Vick at quarterback were a very tough opponent. They are. But this crescendo of awe is getting absurd. He had one of the greatest games an NFL quarterback has had. Anyone other than me around here ever play quarterback? Remember having great games and then reverting to the level at which you normally play? Remember having your coaches set up a perfect game plan against a weak opponent and looking fabulous one week and then having a less-effective game plan against a far superior opponent the next week and going to the bench after a number of three-and-outs frustrated and wondering why you can’t do what you did last week?
Vick is good. Really good. The Eagles’ offense has a lot of weapons and more team speed at the skill positions than any NFL defense has to fully match up with them. But that doesn’t guarantee great games each week and that doesn’t guarantee victories, especially when there’s a vulnerable defense associated with that terrific offensive ability.
I like the Eagles chances Sunday night, but anyone already raising the white flag is being pretty foolish. The game gets played on the field, not in the imaginations of those who expect the Eagles to play as they did against the Skins and the Giants to play as they did against the Cowboys. Obviously, if that happens we get slaughtered. I can’t imagine that being the case. I’m looking forward to seeing what actually transpires at the Linc on Sunday night.
Yeah, I’m rather surprised at just how far the Eagles love fest has gone. Obviously I know this is standard procedure to an extent, but it seems like some people have actually lost their minds a bit.
People are talking like Vick is going to play like that every time he steps on the field or something. It’s kinda of weird.
Unlike BigBlue1212 above, I actually got a good laugh out of Schwartz’s article in the post, it’s one of the better ones I’ve read so far this week regarding the game. I think it might have gone right over his head a little bit.
If we play Tampon-2 then it’s a rout. But then again it would be a rout against most competent NFL teams. We just have to hope that Fewell has gotten it out of his system for a while. Seems like there’s a 10 week span before he does it again. Unfortunately that corresponmds to the Superbowl date. Bad break for us should we get that far.
jfunk- Yea I agree I thought that Post article was hysterical
Thank you. I’m glad I’m not the only one. I can’t fathom how anybody could mistake it for a serious piece:
“As a result, expect Coughlin this week to lighten up and allow his players to come and go as they please, arriving five minutes late if need be.”
“Eli Manning is a competitive sort, but even he will admit that his abilities pale when compared with the wondrous Vick”
“Don’t feel too sorry for Eli, even big brother Peyton can’t outdo Vick the great.”
“…it would be wise for Coughlin to give his defensive coordinator the week off…Fewell needs his rest to feel refreshed for the stretch run, and putting together a futile game plan is only going to waste everyone’s time.”
“Perhaps the Eagles…are a bit fatigued by the track meet they held against the Redskins. That could help the Giants stay relatively close and would be quite a moral victory”
“…as we all know the NFL is not a week-to-week deal, and definitive statements can be made that unquestionably will ring true all season.”
“…he probably won’t mind if Vick gives Justin Tuck or Osi Umenyiora a sweaty wristband, as long as they don’t brag about it to their teammates.”
