Opening a new chapter in Giants 101 history, the first ever G101 Fantasy Football league has officially drafted teams and are set for battle in the 2010 NFL season. On Friday evening, six G101 writers (includes former writer, Kyle Langan) and six readers are now managing their respective teams.

  1. Matthew Kiernankujo says:

If I had to select a team (other than mine, of course) that has the potential to run roughshod through this league, it’s Demo’s team. Rivers is a great fantasy QB, playing more than half of his games in pristine weather–8 games in San Diego (which, of course, means “a whale’s ****” in German) and 1 game in Oakland. Celek and Bradshaw are both going to benefit from increased roles in their respective-offenses and Sims-Walker will continue to progress down in Jax. Good ****. Not better than mine, but good nonetheless.

    “You will lose”

  3. brett75 says:

after carefully and painstakingly going over all of your rosters, i have concluded with all of my calculations and astute observations that one of you will in fact win this prestigious fantasy football league. and you can take that to the bank.

  4. brett75 says:

and one other thing how in the world is blackburn still on this team. now i know he is very good on specials but come on. i really think he must be playing coughlins old and rusty trumbone. that is the only thing i can think of

    • Matthew Kiernankujo says:

He’s good on specials; the captain of it, if I’m not mistaken. He’s a good backup to have because, in theory, he can play all 3 LB positions. He’s tough, dependable, but not stellar. He’s the embodiment of Coughlinism, just like Hedgecock and Tollefson.

  5. Terrance ThomasTerrence T says:

ima have to say that my team will be tough to beat as we are solid all over.
kujo has a very tough team as well

  6. Samardzija says:

Revis signed a 7 year deal, total number unknown, that can be voided to a 4 year 46 million deal, with 32 million guaranteed regardless.

    7. Tom Coughlin, Giants

    • Abbott Stillmanfanfor55years says:

This is very interesting. As much as I cannot stand some of what he does, I can’t really disagree with the rankings much. Coughlin is certainly one of the top 10 coaches.

I think Singletary and a few others are ranked too low, but Tom would still be in that top 10.

I would rank Harbaugh above him. And I’d still like his brother as Coughlin’s successor if Mara doesn’t want Fewell. Jim Harbaugh is going to be a sizzling hot commodity after another successful season at Stanford.

  8. Nosh says:

First of all I’m extremely upset I was not invited to this league. Noshtradamus runs FFB. Actually my bread and butter is baseball but I’m pretty d@mn good at football. Heres some quick thoughts on each team.

KYLE – McCoy and Forsett both suck, they have starting jobs but little skill. Calvin and Floyd I actually like at WR. And 49ers Def should be beastly. Best fantasy QB in the league. If you didn’t waste two early picks on McCoy and Forsett I might respect this team.
    Projected finish – 5th

RICH – Just quit the league now with VY as your QB. Really you couldn’t find a better QB than that? Delhome will have better numbers than him. Fitz is hurt and has the worst QB in the league throwing to him. Just an all around dog sh#t team.
    Projected Finish – Last

HAZ- Everyone loves Romo this year but I worry about the O-Line. Love AP hate LT. If Romo is good than Austin will be too. Love Crabtree this year. Overall a solid team with major worries, (Cowboys offense and impending Vikings implosion)
    Projected Finish – 6th

BENTON – Schaub is the most overrated QB in football (fantasy and real life) Def won’t play 16 games. SJAX never plays 16 games either. Stewart is a solid number 2. As a Hofstra Alum I should support the Colston pick but Brees spreads the ball out too much. What’s right below mediocre?
    Projected Finish – 10th

SIMON- Rodgers will be this years Drew Brees. I don’t know about real life MVP but fantasy MVP for sure. Pierre Thomas sucks but I love Best. Get Barber in at flex over Burlson. Trade Brady for a better WR. Team has major upside.
    Projected Finish – 3rd

SEAN – This is what a team should look like. FFB is 85% luck anyway so why not take guys with a ton of upside. Flacco has major fantasy upside. Turner, Grant and Foster!!! As long as this league isn’t ppr your good. Plus Portis on your bench. Trade a RB for a top WR and win the league.
    Projected Finish- First

  9. Nosh says:

TURKISH – I’m a little worried about Jones-Drew this year. Plus the Jags suck. But his upside is too good to pass up. Love Roddy White and Jennings. Smart move getting 2 top WR. Addai is playing for cash and Forte has the worst O-Line in football. Not crazy about Favre or Ryan. With the right trades could be a contender.
    Projected Finish – 7th

SAMARD- Not a fan of Cutler this year. I know Martz is there but that O-LIne is terrible. Bowe should bounce back, Wayne I think is starting to show age. RB’s are solid.. A nice team on paper but something doesn’t feel right. Ohh wait it’s Cutler.
    Projected Finish – 8th

JCROWN- No way Cincy will be any good this year, so I’m not buying the Palmer or Benson picks. That being said I LOVE the rest of this team. Spiller and Matthews have huge upside. We all know about Johnson and Garcon will break out this year. Plus Finley. Get a real QB in there and this team could do some damage.
    Projected Finish – 4th

TERRANCE – No bigger Eli fan than me but you don’t want him in Fantasy. His numbers always drop off in NOV / DEC. Love Marshall and Nicks. You can tell Eli’s gonna go to him a lot this year. RB’s are solid. I hate Vernon Davis but that’s because he burned me so many times in the past. RB’s are pretty d@mn good although I can’t imagine Rice duplicating what he did lat year. Trade Eli during the Bye week and you’ll have a shot.
Projected Finish – 2nd with a new QB.

KUJO – Ugghhhh. Love Brees but he’s on the cover of Madden this year so thats a stay away. No way Greene plays more than 12 games. Same goes for Brown. And Harvin can’t stay healthy either. Like Smith alot but I think DJAX regresses alot. Chargers D sucks but they play KC, DEN and OAK twice a year. Too much damage has been done to salvage the season.
    Projected Finish – 11th

DEMO – Mad respect for the Rivers and Moss picks. Rivers is a girl but he’s a heck of a fantasy QB. Moss is the most talented WR of all time and he’s playing for a contract. Don’t f@ck with Randy when he wants his cash. I really like Bradshaw and Williams. Great upside for both. Sims-Walker is terrible. You’ll need to get another WR ASAP. Like Celek a lot. He should see plenty of balls. Yes I realize that last sentence sounded g@y. Bench is horrible.
Projected Finish – 9th. But I love the Moss, Rivers and Bradshaw picks. Unfortunately it won’t be enough.

    • demo3356 says:

LOL! 9th? I got hundred that says i Finish in the top 5…I was in 4 leagues last year and was in 4 Superbowls…My bench does blow though as the wifey was in the mood friday night so I drafted starters and then went the autopick mode..No worries they will all be cut and replaced with the breakout stars of 2010..
