With yet another pick on along the defensive line, the Giants have selected DE Adrian Tracy in the sixth round of the NFL Draft.
I’ve never heard of the kid, but he must have stuck out to the Giants draft room because you can’t exactly call this a “need” pick.
One pick left. My best guess is a cornerback or a running back.

bbwc- whos goin to long snap then?
Positives: Outstanding college pass rusher with the size/speed numbers to transition to linebacker at the next level. Breaks down well, quickly recognizes the action, and plays with good balance. Displays good first step quickness, stays with in his angle of attack, and chases the action around the field. Plays with terrific pad level, fluid, and nicely redirects to the action. Constantly gets penetration up the field and shows good speed in every direction. Flashes ability in space and when dropped off the line into coverage.
Negatives: Lacks a big frame and easily controlled at the point of attack by a single blocker. Gets caught up in the wash moving laterally.
Analysis: Tracy has been a pass rushing terror throughout his college career yet has also displayed ability drop off the line of scrimmage in coverage. He possesses the physical skills to make the transition to outside linebacker in a 3-4 system. A solid developmental prospect who could end up on a practice squad.
Projection: 7th

“You can never have too many pass rushers.”
–Ernie Accorsi
I’m sure they are drafting to make Perry happy and if so, I love what he is trying to do with this defense. We are getting a lot of big, athletic guys here and it’s obvious this defense is going to be focused on getting the QB and forcing turnovers. We added a big tough safety who is a great compliment to Rolle/Phillips and we bolstered our d-line. Add Sintim and Tracy as pass rushing LBs and some quick guys like Boley, Dillard, Wilkinson, Kehl and we should be able to build a fierce pass rush again next season with a dangerous secondary ready to make interceptions. I like what we’ve done and I feel good about next season.
Samard,
Give me the scoop on the OL, if you don’t mind.
I know many people don’t like the JPP pick including myself, but here’s something interesting.
In a 19-scout poll on a 1-to-5 basis about this year’s top defensive end prospect, Jason Pierre-Paul edged out Derrick Morgan for the most “points.”
JPP had 69 1/2 points (5 1/2 firsts) over Derrick Morgan (67, seven).
Even though Morgan had more “firsts,” he ended up being the top rated amongst scouts.
However, those same 19 scouts, when asked which defensive lineman had the best chance to bust, gave Pierre-Paul the most votes (4), tied with Dunlap.

idk
Steelers grab Dwyer… Seems like a steal, idk why he fell so far.
Came from that goofy triple option where he played FB. Ballooned up during the season, rarely blocked in that system, rarely caught the ball in that system, has small hands, and is almost strictly a between the tackles type guy. Still surprised to see him fall this far though.
the only reason people think jpp could “bust” is because he hasn’t been playing that long, which to me, says how good he can actually become
Dirt, you mean which guys are left on the board?
