Trends at a Glance:

1. Nearly every entry has us taking a defensive tackle in the 2nd, with Lamaar Houston receiving the most nods (8), Linval Joseph in second (5), Brian Price (2) in third and Cam Thomas in last.

2. Nearly every draft that has us taking anybody other than Weatherspoon or McClain in the first follows up with us selecting a LB in the 3rd. Exceptions include two with us taking one in the 4th (Jay from G101 and Spider43) , another has us not selecting one at all through the 5th (norm). Finally, one has us not taking a linebacker at all (shmitty013).

3. Only two people (arigsbee and ROC) has us drafting Rolando McClain in the 1st. C.J. Spiller has the most support (6) and Sean Weatherspoon (5) has the second most. Earl Thomas, Joe Haden and Derrick Morgan also make appearances.

  1. Samardzija says:

LMAO at Norm.. ” Project QB”.. Too funny

  2. Matthew Kiernankujo says:

    FYI, I’m “Matthew James.”

  3. Dirt says:

I don’t toot my horn for much around here except for two things: stats that prove the above average nature of our coaches and the Spiller bandwagon. And I’m glad to see the majority of you folks see the value he adds and don’t get caught up in the overanalysis of drafting someone. You see that the best player makes the team better. I salute you!

    Spiller!

    • wlubake says:

Agree he’s the best player of those anyone slotted. Disagree he’ll be on the board.

      • Dirt says:

Agree that he’s the best. Disagree with your disagreement that I agree he will be available (at 15), as I disagree he’ll be there, but agree with those that agree that its worth it to move up.

        ;)

  4. Drew Rigsbeearigsbee says:

Gotta say, I like Samard and Jay from G101 mocks the best. Even more than my own.

  5. wlubake says:

Also notable that both Kyle Calloway and Kevin Thomas get lots of love in the late rounds.

  6. Matthew Kiernankujo says:

Yup. Seems as though a late round CB are about as commonplace as the the 2nd round DTs. I am partial to the ones who are KR/PR threats because of my value for versatility (Weatherspoon over McClain; Pouncey over Iupati).

  7. Drew Rigsbeearigsbee says:

Everyone’s mocks were great though…this has to be one of THE MOST educated sports blogs on the planet.

  8. Matthew Kiernankujo says:

I might’ve jumped the shark a bit with Arenas in the 5th. Doubt he drops that far, to be honest. If I had to retool my draft, it would be:

    1) Spiller
    2) Lamaar Houston
    3) **SENT AWAY IN A TRADE**
    4) Donald Butler
    5) Syd’Quan Thompson

  9. Matthew Kiernankujo says:

Agreed. Glad everyone was open to going out on a limb and doing this. So many times, people are afraid to put their foot down on a player outside of the 1st Round because most people don’t know much about players beyond it. They’ll say “we need a player at x position” rather than saying, “I want THIS PLAYER.” But since we’re all so **** smart, and since we’ve got to have the most educated scouts in the blogosphere (I’m talking to you Samard, Haz, ROC, Kyle, etc.), I’m confident that every pick was made with more consideration than any moron hairpiece on ESPN!

Plus, who gives a f***! Let’s just have some fun! Dreamers should be allowed to dream!

  10. Steve Smithshmitty013 says:

I thought I’d be the only person with Kevin Thomas in the 5th, but clearly not. The reason I didn’t select any LB is because I believe Reese thinks that if he can’t get McClain, he won’t be able to find a MLB who is better than Goff. But honestly, I have no idea what Reese thinks and no one does, but Reese, himself, Marc Ross, and anyone else who will be in the draft room tomorrow through Saturday.
