- The Detroit Lions are essentially locked into two potential propects with the number two pick in the draft, both defensive tackles. The question is whether it will be Ndamukong Suh of Nebraska or Gerald McCoy of Oklahoma. The team is expected to have their pick of the two, as the St.Louis Rams appear set on drafting quarterback Sam Bradford with the number one overall pick.
- The Baltimore Ravens are reportedly shopping tackle Jared Gaither for a second-round draft pick. The team is said to have issues with Gaither’s work ethic and attitude.
- Veteran quarterback Jeff Garcia and the Philadelphia Eagles have reportedly been moving toward a contract for the 2010 season.
- The Kansas City Chiefs, holding the fifth overall pick, and the Cleveland Browns, holding the seventh overall pick in the draft, are believed to have the most interest in safety Eric Berry out of Tennessee, one of the draft’s most dynamic playmakers.
- Florida quarterback Tim Tebow has recently been linked to the Washington Redskins, as the team is reportedly enamored with him. The Redskins do not even hold a second round pick due to the Donovan McNabb trade however, and there are teams said to be willing to take a first-round chance on Tebow.
- With the draft stocks of both Alabama linebacker Rolando McClain and Clemson running back C.J Spiller rapidly rising – it’s becoming increasingly unclear where the Giants may go with the fifteenth pick in this year’s draft. The team has been linked to defensive linemen and offensive tackles over the past two weeks, but is also said to be interested in moving up from the fifteenth spot to secure one of their top targets.

If this is correct, it would mean that we probably open up the season at home against the Eagles:
Aikman said he’d heard a rumor that the Cowboys would be opening the season on the road against Donovan McNabb and the Redskins. Since Aikman is employed by the network that would likely broadcast that game, I’d say it’s a pretty good lead.
That would be awesome if we opened vs Philly imo
Methinks they should have waited until December to do this… ‘twould be only too fitting. After all, isn’t that the month in which the team for which the stadium was named conducts its own annual implosion?
Joe Sbarra, of Manhasset, L.I., sat glumly with his daughter Nicole looking out into the field from a table in the Coach’s Club. A Giants season-ticket holder for the past 25 years, Sbarra purchased tickets to the lacrosse tripleheader for the sole purpose of checking out the Giants’ new digs. He was none too happy about the new stadium, also home to the Jets.
“It has less of a Giants feel to it,” he said. “It’s way too neutral for me. Before it was Giants Stadium, it was about the Giants. This is now called the Meadowlands. It’s not the same. It’s hard to adjust. I don’t think they were thinking of the person who was a Giants fan the last 20 years when they made this place.”

Hey, he’s right to be peeved… and sentiment has nothing to do with it.
If the rumors are true and the Jets are lagging far behind the Giants in terms of PSL sales, you could say that the new stadium has largely been built on the backs of Giant fans. Hell, since they did most of the heavy lifting to finance this boondoggle, I think the stadium should rightly be named something along the lines of “Giantfan Stadium.”
Or “FF55′s Folly.”
That’s correct – they were thinking of a person named Benjamin Franklin. Over and over, all day every day.
Haz- what are your thoughts on spoon? And how would you rank mcclain, spoon, Haden, spiller, and Earl Thomas?
I’d offer Baltimore our 3rd rounder for Gaither. I wanted him in the supplemental draft. It would enable us to move Diehl inside immediately, and eventually maybe move Gaither to RT after McKenzie.
Not worried about his work ethic? I would give up a 3 Rd for him too. I would not trade up in this draft too deep to do that. I would rather trade down and get more picks in the top three rounds
So, if some had their way on here, we’d have given our 2nd round pick for Kirk Morrison and our 3rd round pick for jared Gaither.
I eagerly await the selection of whoever we get with those picks who will undoubtedly be better than both Morrison and Gaither.
Gathier is really solid. I would def give a 2nd round pick for him. We have been talking about getting some OL depth in the early round, are we going to find someone who will be better than gathier?
I never buy into “too good to be true” offers. A stud LT for a second rounder? The Ravens clearly know something we dont. And if it was such a great offer how has the entire league not jumped on that
I don’t know anyone who is looking for any “OL depth.” I, like others, am looking for someone to groom into a starter. Whether it is a RT, LG or a C, anyone we draft will be taken with the intention of him ascending to a starting position within the next year or two. I’m not interested in sacrificing a valuable pick in the second round, where we want to be able to pick one of the plethora of defensive tackles or someone like Best or Pouncey, both of whom could drop out of the first round. And for what? A guy whose work ethic is in question? Is that really what this team needs? Another prima donna who won’t put in the work? No, I’d rather get someone hungry and young than some lard castoff from Baltimore.
Word
Kujo, I couldn’t have said it better myself. The draft is about future potential and getting players who fit the team. Not someone else’s headaches!!!
