Perhaps Ernie Accorsi’s old adage: “You can never have enough pass rushers” will indeed dictate Big Blue’s draft approach.
With so much uncertainly at the number fifteen slot in this coming draft, the one thing that is certain is that the talent pool will indeed be bubbling over.
This could be a rare opportunity for The Giants to address one of their most highly valued positions: defensive end.
One of the most respected draft experts ever, Gil Brandt, recently projected South Florida defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul to land in New York.
Back in the spring of 2007 when The Giants selected Mathias Kiwanuka, they already had Michael Strahan, Justin Tuck, and Osi Umenyiora on the roster. The Giants front office was likely of the mindset that they would soon lose Strahan, and that it would be best to fill that void before it opens.
This was a wise decision on the part of the front office as Kiwanuka has proven to be a valuable asset for several years now.
South Florida’s Pierre Paul would prove to be a similar type of pick. Possibly even more athletic than any defensive end currently on the roster, Pierre- Paul has the ability to become a star in this league with a little bit of coaching. What cannot be coached though, is 6’6″, 260 lbs.
With 6.5 sacks and 16.5 tackles for a loss in 2009, Pierre-Paul showed that he is a big play waiting to happen.
There is no question that middle linebacker is a big need for New York, but with a talent like Pierre-Paul available, could they choose to address that need later?

No. No no.
I actually don’t think this will be a bad pick at all, depending on who’s still available. I personally wouldn’t mind if the Giants traded down and gathered more picks, but I wouldn’t be upset if they took him at #15
Who wins the pizza?
If anyone is ever in Amherst Mass check out Antonio’s Pizza. Best I’ve ever had.
Santonio Holmes suspended 4 games
And though Roethlisberger had his charges dropped, he could still face suspension. How hilarious would that be if they had a throw away season because Ben and Holmes were suspended?
Yeah, I’d be very disappointed with JPP at 15. Maybe if we traded back into the 20′s, but if we stay at 15, NO…
The last thing I heard on NFL.com was that another man had taken responsibility for the glass-throwing, confirming Holmes’ original take on the story.
Bilking celebrities at its best.
Indeed, and the girl’s friends initially told the police that it was this other guy too.
However, much like Ben, that doesn’t mean you’re any less of a moron for being in an altercation with a woman at a club in the first place.
BTW, Antrel Rolle needs to get off his **** and get his website updated to a Giants theme.
The 3rd-and-5 Shotgun Draw Pizza…yup, just what you’d think it is: a thin crust pizza with a big, steaming turd on it. With parsley as a garnish.
lol…. Slow weekend I see.
Interesting write up on the state of the Giants by Amani Toomer:

Speaking of Gil Brandt.. here’s an interesting Q&A with him… including this homey little reminiscence of the early years of the NFL draft:
Let me tell you my introduction to the draft. We used to draft in a ballroom, first of all, in Philadelphia because of the Commissioner’s office was there, and at the time we had 12 teams, and all 12 teams would have a table set up there, and the interesting thing was, of course, that some teams came in with Street & Smith football magazines, other teams came in with newspapers, the Billings Gazette and so forth, and that’s how they did their draft.
And then one intriguing thing was they all had rolls of quarters, and the rolls of quarters were because in those days all we had was pay phones, and they would come in and they would call Pappy Lewis as an example at West Virginia and say, you know, I need an offensive tackle; who’s the best guy you played against this year.
