After a rough couple weeks inside the New York Giants front office, Big Blue announced (as did Garafolo) today that they have locked up CB, Kevin Dockery, via a 2nd-round tender worth $1.545 million.
While Dockery will be competing against Terrell Thomas for time on the field, especially with starters, Aaron Ross and Corey Webster already taking up the majority of the time.
Dockery often flies under the radar but has been a solid player for the Giants since he came on board in 2006. Thus far, in his few years of service to the Giants, Dockery has accrued 97 solo tackles, 24 passes defended, 3 INTs, 1 forced fumble and 1 touchdown.
It also will go a long way to keep another NY Giants veteran (even of only 3 years) on the team to maintain some stability…at least on the continuity front.
Personal Note:
My thanks for Dan Benton and Hazem Kiswani for putting in some serious overtime while I dealt with a number of personal issues. Things are finally coming back into focus and I expect to be adding a bunch more ink to G101 from now on. Thanks again and GO GIANTS!

Good to have you back, Sean!
“For some reason, I don’t,” Winslow said when asked if Edwards would play for the Browns next season. “I know Braylon would love to go to New York. The Giants would fit him to a ‘T’ and he would have so much fun up there. I know he loves Cleveland, but New York would be a great fit for him. He’s a city guy and, yeah, I know he would love it there.”http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/04/13/winslow-weighs-in-on-edwards-trade-rumors/
KD – That was mentioned like a week and a half ago. Not sure why PFT is just posting it now…

Today’s game against the Nationals will be played, but the team will not visit the White House tomorrow.”We lost Harry today,” David Montgomery, the team president, said. “We lost our voice.”Mr. Kalas, who was found unconsious, missed most of spring training after undergoing undisclosed surgery in Feburary. That surgery was unrelated to the detached retina that sidelined him for part of last season.Mr. Kalas, who turned 73 on March 26, has broadcast Phillies games since 1971. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002 as the recipient of the Ford C. Frick Award. He is entering the final season of a 3-year contract that he signed in December 2006.He has passed. OK… quick Plaxico story…It turns out that one of the guys in work… his wife’s cousin is the cop that gave Plax his latest ticket… in Fla.Seems Burress was driving all over the road… weaving in an out. It wasn’t a random stop. Anyway, he pulls him over… goes up to the window… Plax rolls it down and says in an angry voice, “what the f’cuk are you pulling me over for?”.Great way to start. But still… he sees the license, and knows it’s him. So he’s trying to cut him a break… give him some other charge than DUI… but Plax won’t shut up… keeps giving him attitude. Finally he had no choice but to write him up.Yeah… he said Plax is a complete moron.
Harry Is not only going to be missed in Philadelphia, his character and voice transcend the game. He is a true all time great. I think everyone will miss him, The voice of the Phillies and the voice of those iconic NFL films will be sorely missed. Truly a sad day.
Any truth to the rumor of Terrell Thomas being moved to safety.
Kevin Dockery has signed his restricted free agent tender. But the real thing here is>>>are we going to get a prime (WR) or not?????Because Edwards and Ocho are true #1s in their prime. If we don’t get a prime (WR)…once they see we don’t have that deep threat, it’s over come Playoffs time.Because with the (WR)’s we got…shhhhh, well you saw what the eagles did to us…9 men on the box!
